“I began to realize how important it was to be an enthusiast in life. He taught me that if you are interested in something, no matter what it is, go at it at full speed ahead. Embrace it with both arms, hug it, love it and above all become passionate about it. Lukewarm is no good. Hot is no good either. White hot and passionate is the only thing to be.”
*PS-Dear Reader- The only favor I ask is that you follow the story, Share if you are so inclined. Know that I am following dreams as you do.
49 and 48 Days-
So in a sense, I cheated. I signed up to check an item off of my bucket list. I love motorcycles and the idea of learning how to ride one has always been there, and as this campaign started and continues to progress ..well the desire to keep putting things off gets less and less. The opportunity…and the money to take one of the “do it all in one weekend classes” came up and I signed up and this was the weekend….
It was however one of the hottest summer weekends we have had to date and I was exhausted. I literally have been on a motorcycle once and that was like 30 years ago when a friend took me for a ride on the back of his bike…it was exhilarating then and this weekend was equally so. I found out I take to motorcycles like a duck to water. This is going to take the place of the Zen I had when riding my horses….and yes I passed and now I can go to the DPS office and get a motorcycle endorsement and yes I am doing a serious happy, happy joy, joy dance.
But it was long classes and today was literally the first day I had a chance to sit down and let the words flow for this…so two days are coming as one.
Back to where I left off….
Once I had spent several weeks researching you and the idea of tour books, and I really hate to call them that because they are really much more than that. They are more like photographic musical biographies and can even be themed to businesses…for example.
We have a Historic Downtown area and there is a business there called The Village Cafe/ART 979. Kristy was one of the original businesses and her building of course is historic. She has also created a Cheers feel to the place. Local Art revolves on the wall, there is a singer/songwriter mike night. Hazy Ray performs every Sunday there as an acoustic group when they are in town. There is a domino group that meets there every sunday. A salsa night, craft dinners…and the list goes on. The idea was to photograph there for a month solid and then craft a written story of the history of the business as well as the history of the building. So there is definitely a niche for these types of books….
Once I was done crafting the “mock-up book” and I had a handful of written pages with my notes for the business proposal. I went to the Twins and they crafted a lovely proposal book to accompany it. Then it just became the trail it has become today. One lead, one door after another and really along the way I have met some really incredible people, developed some amazing friendships and learned a lot about myself. As Maya Angelou says “Every day I became a better version of myself”.
But the end result was taking to Social Media, I needed to know that I had done literally everything I could to get in the door and create the opportunity and I felt that it was a really important thing to do. I still do, I think it has become a large part of the journey and so I ask you, Josh Groban AND your manager, publicist to open the door, let me sit with you, ALL of you with open minds…. Let’s make this happen.
I include a screen shot to illustrate why.
